BackupBot is a software solution that protects your company's data — it encrypts it locally and saves it automatically to the cloud. You hold the encryption keys. Like comprehensive insurance — you hope you'll never need it, but when you do, you recover everything.

BackupBot installs on the client's device or server, encrypts data locally before transfer and transmits it securely to the configured destination (Cloud, NAS or SFTP). The process runs automatically according to the established settings, without manual intervention.

Data is stored in the infrastructure chosen during configuration. In the standard version, backups are saved in the cloud via the Backblaze B2 service. Alternatively, the customer can opt for storage on their own SFTP server or NAS. Data is encrypted before transfer, and access to its content is controlled exclusively through encryption keys.

No. Data is encrypted locally before transfer, and the encryption key is unique and remains exclusively with the customer. Without this key, the data cannot be accessed and decrypted.

The encryption keys are unique and are generated during installation, exclusively for your device. At the end of the setup process, you have the option to send them to your configured email address — we strongly recommend doing this before finishing the installation and storing them in a safe place. If the keys are lost, the data cannot be decrypted and recovery will not be possible.

In the event of a ransomware attack, affected files can be restored from previously saved backup versions.
Because backups are stored separately and encrypted, data remains protected and can be recovered quickly.

Restoration is performed by selecting the desired version from the backup archive and downloading it from the configured infrastructure.
The process is simple and can be performed at any time, depending on the company's needs.

BackupBot displays notifications directly in the application interface before the license expires.
In addition, warning emails are automatically sent in the period leading up to expiration to avoid service interruption.

In case of license expiration, access to backup functions is suspended.
Existing cloud backups are kept for 15 days after expiration, after which they will be automatically deleted.

If the storage space is slightly exceeded, BackupBot sends you a warning message.
In case of a significant exceedance, the cloud upload process is automatically stopped and you will receive an error message

Backups are protected with AES-256-GCM encryption. Data is encrypted locally before transfer and transmitted over secure connections. The encryption keys are unique, generated exclusively during installation, and remain in your possession — DataRunix does not hold them and cannot access the contents of your backups.
